Istanbul Cafe makes the best Gyro in the City almost like the original that you could only eat in Turkey. The soups are very good as well, just come a little bit too hot :)

I have been ordering from this place since its early opening, they managed to improve the taste and enrich their menu. I can say its the best kebab around this neighbourhood, especially if you refuse to buy from gyro car stands in the middle of the street, this restaurant has a very nice place with its backyard garden. Peaceful and elegant, yet reasonable prices and good service... when it comes to desserts, people has lots of choice to make but im just a chocolate lover so I stick with the profiterole.which is the best.

The food is fresh and tasty. Istanbul Cafe offers a great value for your meal. Its offerings are probably as healthy as it gets. The delivery is fast and precise. This is one of the great delivery options available on the upper west side.

I usually love this place, but today the Shepherd Salad was really salty. Not sure what happened, because it's not usually like that. Very disappointing.... Also, they really skimped on the baby lamb kebab. It was my first time ordering that dish, so I don't know if the portions are always that skimpy, but for $15.95 I expected more. The one bright spot was the doner kebab, which was fantastic as always.

I love this place - I just started ordering TO GO from this site and it is as good as when I go there in person. Very fast, although I do live on the same block. Excellent food. Fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this place. Ask which desserts were baked that day - yum.

not good. the phylo rolls were doughy not flaky. the lentil soup was a watery puree and the turkey meatballs wrap was dry and tasteless. hummus is ok. and you can get better baklava at costco..Too many things gone wrong defintily not worth a re-do.

Expensive but decent taste and definitely fresh. Good baklava. Shish kabob platter is a bad value but the sandwich version of the order is great.

The walnut baklava is awesome. The chicken shish kebab platter is pretty good, although I wish they'd give a bit more pita bread with it. Decent portions overall.

Food is great, but they shorted me on my order...I got one piece of pita bread for an order of hummus AND falafel, and I got three tiny pieces of baklava when I requested two orders (thinking that an order would be 2-3 pieces). When I tried to call for them to correct the problem, no one answered the telephone.

This place is a ripoff. I ordered $35 worth of food, and ended up with what looks like about $15 worth of food. The entrees are ridiculously small.
